Brass pulls

I purchased an antique chest which has brass drawer pulls and would like to know how to polish them and make bright again, they are black now. Someone told me to spray them with oven cleaner this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . Have you heard of this before?

Thank you,

I JUST COMPLETED REFINISHING MY BEDROOM DRESSER. LOOKS BEAUTIFUL. I REMOVED MY BRASS HANDLES AND SOAKED THEM INTO A COFFEE CAN FILEED WITH 1/2 WATER AND 1/2 PAINT THINNER. AFTER SOAKING HANDLES IN PAINT THINNER FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS, SCRUBBED EACH HANDLE WITH A BRILLO PAD this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] AND WARM WATER. THEY WILL LOOK BEAUTIFUL.
