Zinc Stannate Process

Q. Can someone tell me what the actual process is to manufacture Zinc Stannate. I need this due to a belief I have wherein Indian Tin process could be converted via incorporation into our production needs rendering the much desired results?

Thank you,

A. Two 'zinc stannates' are commercially manufactured as flame retardants / smoke suppressants for polymeric materials. Zinc hydroxystannate (ZHS), is produced by aqueous reaction of either sodium or potassium hydroxystannate with a soluble zinc salt (typically zinc chloride), and is precipitated as a white solid. Zinc stannate (ZS) is produced by controlled thermal dehydration of ZHS, typically at temperature in the range 250 - 350 deg.C, and is also a white powder.
