Electroless nickel plating on a yellow chromated detail
Is it possible and suitable to use electroless nickel plating on a detail that has already been yellow chromated? The detail is a screw UNC7/8x8" to be more exact.

It is veasy to strip the chromate and the zinc coating. Then you can plate the item. I would not even consider the possibility of putting the electroless nickel on top of the zinc chromate.

Cecilia,
The screw is already plated with zinc and yellow chromate. You must stripped the screw first from zinc, and after that plate with electroless nickel.
