STAINLESS STEEL ETCH
2002
We have been contacted by a local firm asking us to produce a "Non Reflective Etch" finish on Small Stainless Steel Wires. The product in question is Type 420 SS and WILL be used in a body contact application. The Wires will be formed and shaped prior to treatment. Our understanding is that the wires are less than .040 thick.
Thanks.. I appreciate all advice.

My best suggestion would be to tumble blast using aluminum oxide to achieve a gray appearance. You would need to thoroughly clean the parts after blasting to remove any blast residue. You could use glass bead to achieve a satin appearance, but the final say is up to your customer.
