Electroplating Lead onto Lead Alloy
I have a need to evaluate the benefit of electroplating a thin layer of pure lead to a lead alloy with .06% Ca, 1.5% Sn, and .014% Al. Is this possible? If so, can this be accomplished within a Lead Fluoborate solution?

Hi, Scott. You would need to activate the lead substrate to get get adhesion, but I don't see any reason that you could not plate it with pure lead from a fluoborate bath. I think, however, what you need to do is locate a supplier of pure lead plating baths. My bet would be that Technic offers one. Good luck.
Good luck!
