What product, material, or process is used to give bronze an 'oiled' finish. Can this be field applied to a piece of solid bronze.

The oiled bronze is probably statutory bronze finish along with a clear coat sprayed to seal and protect. This is applied by various companies in the GTA. Yes, it can be applied to solid brass and bronze, the look is achieved by the person applying the finish to give the proper highlights required by the customer. Everyone has their own opinions on the amount of black, or brown or high-gloss versus satin finish.
