Design copper rack for zinc plating operation

Hello,

I am attempting to redesign a rack for a zinc plating operation. We are currently using a rack made from 1/4" square copper. My rack is approx. 16" x 26" with 5 bars from which to hang the "grid" that I'm zinc plating. The grid is .005 thick and measures 3.75 x 14.25. We are using 2 electrical spring clamps to hang each piece of grid from the copper bar. They are a Mueller 20 amp. number 27 clamp. They are not easily squeezed, and we have some employees complaining of wrist pain. I have been asked to design a new clamp that is easier to compress, but not to add any weight to the rack. I've been considering making a whole new rack with new clamps, but I'm struggling with the design. I believe there must be "stock" clamps available, but I've had no luck finding any.

Any help would much appreciated.

Thank you!

First of two simultaneous responses --

You may be able to do this with standard fiberglass C-clamps

A lot of shops use an electrified cathode support bar to hang the racks on. This would eliminate the need for clamps.
