HELP TO DESIGN HARD CHROME FACILITY

2002

We wish to hard chrome plate extruder screws and are in two minds to decide what type of a set up we should have. It is a job shop and screws vary, from 2" - 6" Diameter and are maximum 8 feet long.

1st choice is to have 4 feet X 4 feet X 10 feet deep tank so that the screw can be hung vertically.

2nd choice is to plate it horizontally and rotate it as we plate to get uniform deposit.

Kindly advice which kind of set up would be more favorable considering flexibility, economics and the design as we are going to fabricate it ourselves.

THANKS AND REGARDS,

Vertically is cheaper and easier and may be perfectly satisfactory. But horizontally is better, especially if very high thicknesses are required because the thickness can be tested during plating.
