Can stainless steel be "polished brass" plated?

We have specified an electric light fixture that is only available in a stainless steel finish. We would like the finish to be in polished brass. Can this be accomplished by plating the exposed cover. Can you make any suggestions on how to do this.

It may not be inexpensive enough for you, but yes it is very possible to do this. On executive jets it's even pretty common. Any electroplating shop which plates onto stainless steel and which offers brass plating can do this for you but, as implied, if you find a shop that plates parts for executive jets the learning curve should be about zero.
