Chocking of selenium in pp lines
Hi,
I am working in selenium distillation and precipitation process. One problem occurring with us is that polypropylene line are chocked by selenium during circulation pump through ejector. How to stop this chocking please tell me.

Hi!
I really know absolutely zilch about selenium processing but have encountered the plugging of pump lines in the past dealing with (air pollution) scrubbers.
For instance, it was found that the (brine? ... I forget the alkalkine solution make-up) would start to plug up IF the water content dropped and wasn't maintained. However in your case could it not be a critical temperature at which the solution starts to solidify but DOESN'T if that temperature is increased?
Some food for thought. If this is of any use, the finishing.com would sure really appreciate a reply.
PP should be good for 80 degr. C ... and it's anti-slip properties are fairly good, only exceeded by Pe, perhaps, and, of course, the fluorocarbons.
