Aluminum polishing

We manufacture a small aluminum tube with an ID of .907 ±.001. We need to have a highly reflective surface prior to gold plate. I am looking for a better method of polishing as well as an instrument that will measure reflectivity. We are currently polishing with Nevr-Dull this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] .

Ben,

Not sure how big your part is and that is critical to proper equipment or process. Your I.D. is large enough to accommodate most mass finishing processes; therefore, I recommend that system, using plastic media. Which plastic composition depends on the surface profile of your part. For the most reflective finish, I normally recommend a dry organic media; however, for plating, you don't need that fine of a finish.
