What does 10k CAL mean?

Q. I bought a necklace from a Jewelry Store it was a 10kt white gold chain and cross. It has never changed but what does "10k cal" mean? The 10k is for 10 karat but what is "cal"?

Q. I bought a 10k CAL bracelet with Greek design and discs of what I assume to be cut crystals at a flea market/antique place in Gainseville, FL. Can anyone give me any info on this bracelet?

A. Hi Beth. You can write to Cal-Law jewelers and CA Links Inc. to resolve which (if either) uses that trademark. Beyond that, sorry but there are thousands, perhaps more than 100,000 different hallmarks, and millions of styles of jewelry. We have another thread here which devolved into almost endless unanswered queries of this type in a row :-)

One path forward is to search for similar items on eBay [affil link]. There are also sites which will evaluate your jewelry for a fee, sometimes offering to buy it, but that may not make financial sense. Sorry, but my experience from posting thousands of such questions here for over 23 years is that you will not get a helpful response, only draw questions from a thousand other jewelry owners -- but please start with Cal-Law and CA Links and come back and tell us what you found.

Regards,
