Reclaiming gold

How you you do you reclaim gold from old personal computer circuit boards?

I am trying to figure out any easy way of telling whether or not the circuit board (out of old computers, keyboards, etc.) is gold or not and if it is how I might be able to reclaim it.

If it's on electronics and it looks like gold, it is gold. But if the scrap was built in the last 25 years, the thickness is probably under 20 millionths of an inch. You might do a quick calculation and find that you would need to put in $10 worth of effort to recover $1 of gold. It is better to go to a refiner than to try using cyanide or aqua regia in a residential environment; and remember it is illegal to dump any of this stuff down the drain.
