Excessive solder plated on plastic mold-- bridging
Sometime we encountered an excessive solder plated on plastic mold along the edge of copper lead frame or heat sink slug. After strip off the solder, there is no copper or other metal found on the plastic mold. Our process flow is descale-activate-tin lead solder plate (MSA process). The chemistry is confirmed within spec. And all rectifier voltage/current for pre-treatment and tin-lead is within control.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I've encountered the same problem before but just on certain package. What package is that you have found with the problem? Is it TQFP? I'm interested to know more about this problem also. Thanks in advance to anyone who will able to provide the good answer for this.
