Thermal barrier paint
I am looking for a high temperature paint to 1000 deg F that can be applied to .025 inch thick that will act as a thermal barrier. I need it to be light in color to help reflect radiant heat as well as slow down convective heat. Also, I don't want to be required to bake the paint on. We are currently considering a ceramic thermal spray system, but complexity of the system is making it somewhat cost prohibitive. Any help is much appreciated.

I've been looking for something similar.
What I've found so far goes by the name of "Insuladd" ⇨
and it's a combination of ceramic microspheres that can be added to paint to achieve a thermal barrier. My tests on it are somewhat disappointing, given the advertising, but it does work to a degree.
Have you found anything else?

Hi, Lawrence
Here, without any promise that it's better or worse, or even very similar, is a 2nd source of such beads .

Be aware, Herb is affiliated (owner?) with Heatshield...the previous response should be considered a commercial response.

Thanks, Allen.
Internet forums are largely anonymous. I'm sure that there are some other postings on this site from people with vested interests; sometimes their name may even be fictitious to disguise that affiliation. It is important to use what people say only as possibilities to be considered, and to put no trust in a testimonial from someone you don't know.
This site is for technical responses, not commercial ones, and on many threads we don't print commercial responses. But it's an imperfect world and we'll often find readers who understandably don't know or care the difference between epoxy and polyurethane, for example, and just want the name of some product they can consider. That seems to be the way this thread is going :-)
