Phosphating on steel parts

What is the correct procedure & composition of phosphating bath? Is there any difference between zinc phosphating & black phosphating? Is there any post treatment required to get best result on alloy steels?

The procedure of Zinc Phosphating is big and long story and here we cannot give you all the details , I suggest you will read Metal Finishing Directory for it , and there you will get some idea for Zinc Phosphate. The difference between Black Zinc Phosphate and usual Zinc Phosphate is the color of the coating . The Zinc Phosphate's color is from light gray to dark gray . The black zinc phosphate is achieved by one stage before the Zinc Phosphate stage which create the black zinc phosphate coating.
