Process needed for aluminum & Zinc die cast parts cleaning & protection

I need a process that cleans and adds a protection to aluminum and zinc die cast parts, which brings them back to their orginal condition. I have seen the end result of some kind of process that results in these parts to appear to be plated, like with Alodine, but it's not a plating process. Can anyone help?

Hi D,

I'm not sure what you want to know, but it sounds like you're describing a chemical pretreatment process. Typical for aluminum would be as follows.

1. Alkaline clean
2. Water rinse
3. Etch clean
4. Water rinse
5. Deoxidize
6. Water rinse
7. Chromate
8. Water rinse
9. Dry-off
