Stellite machining

Need to know which inserts will be good for cutting face grooves on stellite rings. Tried with uncoated carbide - IC 20, which has very short life.

Try to find Diamond coated tools or "Boride" (I believe its cubic boron nitride).

Is stellite tipped tools OK for wood, or they will be costly.
