Passivate per G1041

Hi!

I have received a product drawing from my customer with "Passivate Per G1014" requirement. I have no ideas on this. Could you please tell me something on G1041. Is it refer to one of the passivation grade or standard or inspection standards? Which country the grade/standards it refer too? How to perform/achieve this passivation? Any specific process, chemicals & equipments or test equipments needed? Where can I get a copy of such documents/procedures.

Thanks for your kindness. Looking forwards for your prompt reply.

Thank you very much.

Tan Boon Chew:

I do not know of any ASTM Standard with that designation. There is a G10-83 on bendability of tubing coatings, but not a G10-14 or G10-41. You could contact ASTM at www.astm.org and find out if there is an obsolete standard. It could be an internal specification at some company or one from Europe that I have not heard of.
