The question could benefit from a little more detail, John, but you could try to Wood's nickel strike the stainless, then copper plate it.

Yes. Follows a generic explanation: SS has to be cleaned, electrocleaned forward, activated with a very acidic bath called Woods strike and then a conventional acid copper sulphate this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] can deposit a dull or bright copper plate on top of the strike. Rinses in between every step.
