Stainless Steel 304 #4 polish to #8 mirror finish, how to

Hello all..

I have some Stainless steel 304 #4 and I want to polish it to a mirror finish #8 I'm not sure how to go about it does the 304 #4 have a film on it that I have to remove first or can I start polishing it right away?

Please give me some advice, thank you very much for your input. This is flat panel stainless sheets.

Don't start with a No. 4 finish SS. Start with a BA piece if possible. It should save you hours!
