Using palladium chloride in plating ABS plastic

Q. We have used AgNO3 as activator in plating ABS plastic. Now we want to use PdCl2 instead of AgNO3. But I don't know how to use it, Could you help me ?

Thanks and Best regards,

A. Dear Mr Dau,

Using silver nitrate is not a good idea because it is explosive, decomposed by light, etc. You can use silver borate, tartrate, malate.

The composition of [Pd] activator is as follow:

PdCl2 .007 : 5 gm/L
SnCl2 40 :400 gm/L
Sn2Cl4 3 gm/L
HCl 400 mL/L
pH<1

Good luck,

Q. I need a clue about how to make Pd Activator when Pd Chloride is available? I shall be grateful.

Thanks
