Chromating metal matrix composites
I am attempting to chromate conversion coat an aluminum silicon carbide MMC in an Alodine 1200s bath. The results are poor to say the least. The coating has a poor color, and becomes dusty after a few weeks, which annoys our customer.
If anybody has experience chromating MMCs, I would appreciate any advice you may have.
