Q. Is there a chemical process to preserve the luster of CDA 110 copper sheeting (with decorative patterning applied with ≅ 120-grit sandpaper) that can withstand outdoor weathering (Arizona heat)? If not, what would be the best choice of an HVLP sprayable clearcoat for maximum adhesion and weatherability and what life expectancy would that clearcoat have?

A. Hello Raimo, You can contact the Department of the Interior and ask for their study entitled "Research into Protective Coating Systems for Outdoor Bronze Sculpture and Ornamentation" at
www.ncptt.nps.gov/sitetools_order_fs.stm ^ https://www.nps.gov/subjects/ncptt/upload/2000-08.pdf
This should be a good source to judge which coating system would work for you. Hope that helps,
