How to remove white gold or platium over gold jewelry

Hi,

Can anybody please advise me how to remove white gold or platium from 22kgold jewelry without polishing. When I polish on mate surface, mate surface come off and becomes mirror surface. So please advise me how to remove without polishing the plating. I'll be very much thankful to you.
