How do we plate nickel over nickel
How do we plate electrolytic nickel over nickel ? We have nickel plated steel parts and need to plate nickel over nickel.

You activate the nickel with a nickel strike solution, Wood's nickel may be good. Then you nickel plate. You need to serialize the parts so you only plate nickel over nickel once; you don't want to lose track of how many layers are on the parts.

You have to activate/deoxidize the Ni substrate with a compatible acid solution.

You could look at ASTM std. B343 for preparation of nickel for electroplating with nickel. Also contact your supplier of nickel chemistry for a nickel activator.
