Chemical labeling
I am looking for a chemical solution to display a part # on stainless steel. With the aid of a silk screen or stamp, the application would darken or blacken the surface contacted by the solution. I would also request that the solution be safe, not requiring a special process. Any ideas?

Since stainless is designed to be stainless, I would think you are asking a lot from a "safe" chemical. Try searching the internet for laser marking devices, I believe I ran across this idea. (Perhaps even at this website, try searching finishing.com using the link at the bottom of this page).
