Q. I would also like more information on this product, it is used as an anti corrosion agent for grounding connections and exposed electrical connections.

"No-Ox-Id" Compound
no_ox_id
on eBay or

Amazon

(affil links)

Hi, Cedric. Sanchem offers No-Ox-Id compound Special A, which is designed for electrical contact surfaces -- things like bus bar joints and cable terminations. I think we're getting warmer :-)

Reputedly, the paste acts as a grease to facilitate a tight joint; and is electrically conductive; and it coats the components to deter corrosion at the joint; and some of these pastes dissolve the thin aluminum oxide on aluminum components to improve conductivity. Like everything else in the world, they probably work better than nothing and not quite as well as their most glowing sales literature :-)

Why grease cable terminations?

Q. Why do we put grease on metal (copper / aluminum) cable terminals?

A. Hi Ahmed. I doubt that it's actually "grease"; more likely it's a greasy compound designed for the purpose. We appended your question to a previous thread which explains its use.
