Etchant for Aluminum 5xxx series welds
I have a problem with etching Aluminum 5xxx series. I am using a mixture of HF and water. I don't have the % conc. of them at the moment. They do not give good results. I am interested in looking at the grains and their orientation, and change in microstructure in welds. Could anyone please let me know the best etchant for the same. I would also appreciate some links to information.
Thanks,
