ENAMELING PLANT FOR CAST IRON BATHTUBS
HI,
I AM SETTING UP AN ENAMELING PLANT TO COAT CAST IRON BATHS BOTH OLD AND NEW. THIS INDUSTRY IN SOUTH AFRICA DIED 30 YEARS AGO AND I AM UNABLE TO GET ANY INFO LOCALLY. I HAVE A FOUNDRY BUSINESS AT PRESENT MAINLY MANUFACTURING VICTORIAN REPLICA STUFF I.E. LAMP POLE SPIRAL STAIRWAYs, etc. CAN ANYBODY PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME? I NEED ALL THE INFO I CAN GET FROM BEST GRADE OF CAST IRON TO USE TO RECIPE FOR COATING. MANY THANKS.

The best iron to use is pure pig iron I worked for Eljers for 39 years and know a lot about the process from foundry to enameling.
