The effects of anti-static packaging on electro-plated zinc finishes
After assembly, our company puts an anti-static pink poly bag over our chassis. I have discovered that after the cahssis is put into a crate and shipped across the country- whether by air or ground- the bag leaves marks in the electroplated zinc finish ("Bright Zinc plate per ASTM B633 TYPE III (CLEAR) SC 2.").
Note: It's typically at least a week before the plated material gets bagged. Should we even use this kind of packaging? What can be done to prevent the marks?
Thanks,

Are you using a dessicant bag to absorb moisture? Does the chassis have any creases that can trap processing solution?
