IRON ELECTROPLATING
I am looking for information regarding iron electroplating (chrome substitute) on Iron, Cu, Al.
MICHAEL PLATITSA1998
I am a bit confused. Are you saying it right? Is this supposed to be a chromium substitute or chromate substitute? I hope you are not talking about Ion-Plating.

I think that Michael is indeed talking about iron plating, as he said, not ion plating. While one wouldn't think of iron as a substitute for chromium in decorative applications, I believe it is true that soldering iron tips utilize a top coat of either chromium or iron. I know that plating of soldering iron tips is a very hot and proprietary topic these days, but if someone could tell us just enough to sate our curiosity about iron as a substitute for chrome we would appreciate it.
