Phenolic epoxy coating vs anodising on aluminium
What is your opinion about phenolic epoxy (EPX518) coating vs anodising? On aluminium always. Could this be effective in anti-corrosion action in outdoor conditions?

Whatever material is used for painting aluminium (even phenolic epoxy) this is of inferior quality with respect to anodising. The reason being in the nature of the polimerised paint itself: it is not a continuous medium but it harbours (several tiny ) holes per square mm of paint which act as an access to the metal base (raw or converted Aluminium) for all components of the outer environment. Humidity and oxygen will slowly creep through the holes and attack the metal base producing naturally oxidised aluminum sites which slowly creep under the paint. Actually, what really protects aluminium is not the painted film but the converted chromium-aluminium compound. This will give(limited) protection to the base compared to anodising, which, if of sufficient thickness and if properly sealed can be considered to resist to corrosion "for a life time"
