Rapid Oxidization of Brass

I need to be able to age (oxidize) brass quickly. Does anyone know of any process I can use. If possible, it needs to create an even finish which can be monitored. I have tried synthetic sweat, but cannot get an even finish.

There are a variety of proprietary antiquing compounds available on the market. The old "home brew" is what used to be known as liver of sulfur this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . It is more properly known as sodium tetrasulfide. This is a corrosive material and has the odor of rotten eggs. It is, in the U.S., considered a hazardous substance.

Hope this helps,
