Stainless steel parts with corrosion
Hello,
I work in a company dealing with aviation products. We got some stainless steal parts with corrosion. I would like to know what is the best way to remove the corrosion without harming the parts. I know that mechanical operation can smear the metal and cover the pits.
Thanks in advance,

It would help if you described the part a little more fully. What is the function of the part and what may have caused the corrosion.
One item I am familiar with is aircraft exhaust systems. We routinely electro-polish them with excellent results.

Keren:
There are a number of excellent products around which will remove any rust (I assume that is what you mean by corrosion) and passivate the area so that it will not come back. citric acid products are the best and easiest to handle in a rework situation, but you need to use the right product and procedure. Many of our customers have excellent results doing this, and it can be fast, especially if you can heat the solution. Let us know if we can help.

Corrosion on stainless steel parts can, usually coming from other non stainless steel parts or heat, can either be polished away witch could mean that the part will be smaller afterwords or glass blasting the part witch will only take off the corrosion from the part.
