If you need legal advice.. why not contact an attorney?

As Marc says, talk to a lawyer! We withheld your name in order to not help wreck your case. If you put this out on the Internet and responders start to pooh-pooh your case, you may be obligated to admit that in open court. That's a mighty poor position to start off from! But if your lawyer asks experts for you, s/he can look around for someone who views your case favorably and--through such rights as attorney-client privilege and work product rules--never have to disclose that the first few s/he contacted didn't see it your way. This is too important to you for you to blow it trying to represent yourself.

The single most important thing that you can do, IMHO, if you have been exposed to asbestos is to not smoke. Bad enough to have those little needle-like crystals irritating your lungs. But if you introduce tar and other similar substances, you can make the problem much worse. Sorry about your health problems.
