Anodizing Aluminum Sheet

I am experiencing problem with aluminum sheet anodizing concerning colour consistency from organic dyes. The colour intensify around the edge of the sheet leaving the middle part lighter. Is there any way around this problem?

It sounds like your getting more coating on the outside edges..re-position your cathodes for an even coating.

I would say it almost sounds like you have a thicker coating at the edges to the middle. This I would expect with electro-plating but anodising should self level as the coating is non-conductive. Check the cathode area, also try one part with a longer run time.
