FDA approval of electroless nickel plating

2002

Dear Sirs:

We are a manufacturer of connection components and I have a question regarding the compatibility of electroless nickel plating on components for use in soft drink and fruit juice dispensing equipment. Can electroless nickel be approved by the FDA in such application?

Thank you,

Certain electroless nickels are FDA approved for your application.

EN is approved for food contact but you need to get approval for each application. The National Sanitation Foundation is the contact agency for getting FDA approval , (they) have a very user friendly web page.
