I have a known person who possess a copper coin of east India company which pulls rice from a distance of half inch and dis colours the rice in 15 mts. time. If rub the rice becomes powder. The tested rice also pulls other rice. We want to sell the coin. Please give us the name and address of any person or company who can buy this in India so that we can have fruitful talk. Earlier we were cheated by touts who posed themselves as agent of American consulate and collected huge amount from us as deposits, but did not do any thing. So please give us proper guidance.

What is a rice puller? I have come across this among various web pages. Can someone educate me in simple terms ?

This chain of mails & postings on Copper Iridium coins is a real interesting read .. a good passtime.

I've a frank question to Mr. [name removed Aug. 04] (or for that matter whoever claims the 'magical' stuff of those coins):

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF THIS COIN (apart from pulling rice, attracting candle flames, and switching off certain lamps or torch lights) ?

To me, my hands do just as well and much better in switching off those ... :)) (and of course, I don't need to attract candle flame anyway, or pull rice. So I don't care on that!)

Mr. [name removed at writer's request Aug. 04]... you still there ?

Dear Mr. [name removed at writer's request Aug. 04],

How are your metal detectors selling? I see the copper/iridium rice pulling antics have been deleted from the bulletin board at metalconstruction.org. They must have excommunicated you guys.

Your promotion of the copper/iridium rice pulling coins would put P.T. Barnum to shame. You and your cohorts have used the Discovery Chanel, the Indian Government, East India Company and Mr. Ceeyen even used the Royal Family for credibility. The mysticism and cultural B.S. was great with gurus visiting other planets, I love it. The carbon paper protection was a great touch to prevent motor vehicles from stopping or going crazy. The unknown uses for the copper/iridium coins sounds marvelous, there is nothing like unknown uses, it's like a veiled threat. Perhaps Mr. Ceeyen, being in pharmaceuticals could fashion a copper/iridium suppository, think of the benefits and new claims. You fellows need to get together on the date of these coins, is it 1616, 1717 or 1818. The problem here is that Iridium wasn't discovered or named until 1804 by Tennant. The Iridium in meteorites is so low that it would take later technologies to extract it but you could say that the Gurus got it on Venus. The first ships from the East India Company didn't arrive in India until 1608 and rights for the first factory in Surat were gained in 1615 from the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. A Libo (not Lebbo) was an ancient Roman coin and the first record of any coin issued by East India Co. was in 1642. James the first was king from mid 1603 and I doubt he was called Her Majesty unless he was cross dressing. You need to have a little historic accuracy to go with the B.S.

All and All it has been a great way to promote metal detectors. You may need to get a good script writer and talk a local producer in Mumbai about making a Bollywood Spectacular about the search for the illusive copper/iridium rice pulling coins. I can almost hear them singing on Juhu Beach.

We give good rates for all rice pulling coin, other RP's like wood and NM, Feather etc.

Do the below tests and include the phone numbers also in the mails, see that there is no delay in any communication etc for fast processing 1)Get fresh rice and keep it very near the item for attraction note the time taken and distance pulled. 2)Now take these tested rice placed on a flat surface towards untested rice and check for attraction. Mail immediately for further tests and instructions. Some item holders get some duplicate RP's so be careful, during testing SEE THAT THE ITEM HOLDER(SELLER) DOES NOT TOUCH THE ITEM AFTER WASHING IT THOROUGHLY WITH SOAP ETC , HE SHOULDN'T TOUCH IT IN BETWEEN THE TESTS ALSO.

Jim is merely pointing out that people with experience can tell even from a photograph that this coin was very recently cast and is most certainly not from 1616. Why should he 'shut up' and help perpetrate this scam which rewards the dishonest?

The only reason this letter was ever printed was as an amusement, as an April Fools' joke in an international journal of metal finishing, Jagadeesh. The fact that the scammers are still posting here is the funniest part of all :-)

Dear Jagadeesh,

I take it that you disliked my critique of your version of a 1616 copper/iridium rice pulling coin. In pulling off a proper scam you need to pay more attention to detail. You need to look closely at old copper base coins observing the wear patterns and patina. A 387 year old coin would have a very different patina and wear pattern. You may want to look at the very old English pennies as an example. I know it's hard to get good experienced help these days but you really need to get a good craftsman to properly make your fraudulent coins. It is doubtful that you will find some fool to shell out 70 to 100 crore rupees for your poorly aged coin. You might be better off getting together with Mr. Ceeyen and get into the copper/iridium suppository business. You could make an info-mercial with all kinds of claims on late night T.V. Who knows, you might even put Preparation H out of business.

Recently I have come across a coin of copper iridium made by the east India company in the year 1616 it is called as a libo coin it has a lot of power it has 4 holes , 3 in a line and the 4th hole above the 3 holes if the holes are charged then a lot of power can be created both for constructive and destructive use . The owner of the coin wants to sell the coin he said it can fetch some 1700 crore rupees in the international market . If any one knows anything about this type of a coin then please guide me. When I tried to take a picture of this coin with my new camera man the camera got stuck for some minutes and again when I tried to take photo again again it was stuck and I had to stand 5 feet away from the coin only then I was able to take a picture , this coin is so powerful that if you take your watch near the coin it will stop working. Also the same person has 2 rice pulling coins which attract rice from 8 inches and after 3 minutes the rice turns into black powder , I challenged my friend that rice can not be pulled then he made me do this test and man these coins are superb , magical . These rice pulling coins are so powerful that when I directed a torch towards it the bulb blew and I had to change the bulb then I placed my watch near it and it stopped working. Anyone knowing anything about how to sell the coins please guide me.

I wouldn't believe that a brand new cell phone you were trying to sell me was actually built in 1616, and neither would I believe that a coin was cast in 1616 when it is very obvious from a quick look that it was very recently cast (we have printed some photos of those coins on letter 12341).

And I wouldn't believe that Indian universities responsible for the study of antiquities could spend many decades collecting insignificant shards of everyday junk while wholly missing miraculous coins in their midst.

And when I receive postings from people claiming to be searching for rice-puller coins--but then I learn that the letters are fictitious and were really written by the people who are trying to sell the coins, I know they are engaging in this lie to delude their victims that there is a resale market in order to quiet the victims' reservations.

I'll tell you who is the dumb villager . . .

Dear Mr Ted,

Thank You for replying. My first experience with Rice pulling coin related stories were-
Foolish people running around to become millionaires in a night, There are cheats no thought
(95% to be close).
There are genuine people who possess the copper-iridium coins but middle men have made such a hue and cry about the coins , that it is unlikely that a deal will ever take place . especially where the rates are concerned .(forget about the 1616 coins which are said to be only 6 in number in the world,Yet to confirm of the existence.)

Looking at the whole thing (Scientifically)copper-iridium or iridium is said to attract carbohydrates or Hydrides , rice has high content of carbohydrates ,when kept close to copper-iridium the rice gets attracted. Now a person without a science background (most of them )will assume the coin to have magical properties since he does not understand the complex situation.

Now to understand why the coin is so expensive(never heard of a transaction that ever took place.)
Once a person is sure that he possess a copper-iridium coin, he starts looking for a buyer in the meantime middle-men will take the rates way beyond imagination that the transaction can never take place.
If only they costed a few dollars even 500 to $1000 I am sure there would be buyers ,using them for research.

Hi. I'd been digging around on this topic, and I've found only two sites, both message boards, that say anything about rice pulling copper-iridium complexes, this and stormloader.com I don't believe the "coin" has any specific relevance- I'll stick to saying Cu-Ir complexes. They DO have some peculiar characteristics. And since they seem to be found only in India, I'll presume, for the moment, that we are dealing with copper of decent vintage that probably came from the same geological block and happened to have some iridium thrown in. What I'm interested in is a resource or resources that explain the phenomena in question, and why/how this is being called a scam. To add a footnote by way of explanation to the interests expressed above- a phenomena that is not understood cannot be laughed away simply because one does not understand it and one does not have the imagination and knowledge to put it to use. And people HAVE been using stuff for expected results before discovering a rational explanation as to its properties as per contemporary western science. Coffee, to mention a non-controversial example. And steam used to blow off kettles long before James Watt put a lid on it. As to calling the thing a scam- I share Mr. Thakur's views regarding pricing, but haven't yet found a reason why this should be a "scam". Is anyone trying to make money off the "sellers"? And at any rate, along with spoiling any possible market for the stuff, the "buyers" who speak of millions of dollars are doing a service by ensuring that a lot of (valuable in other ways) antiques stay very safe where they are. All said and done, Mr. Mooney, I would very much appreciate some explanations/comments (or resources to the same) for the RP trick and about the "scam". And my modest collection of antiques will welcome a couple of samples of RP iridium, though at beggarly prices!

We have printed enough here that it should be very obvious that this is a scam. For example, look at letter 12341 where we have printed several photographs of these coins which people are trying to sell, supposedly cast in 1616, but which were obviously cast within the last year or two.

For another thing, we have on several occasions received letters saying things such as "I have heard of the miraculous powers of rice-pulling coins and, although I have never seen one, I am desperate to acquire one and will pay up to [some outrageous amount of money]". Moments later we would receive a letter saying : "I have rice-pulling coins available". Funny thing is, although the letters ostensibly came from different people, both came from the same I.P. address. It is very obvious that the first letter was a fraud designed to convince potential buyers that there is a re-sale market so they will be more willing to risk the investment of buying the seller's coins.

I am not categorically claiming that it is impossible that copper-iridium might have certain properties. I am saying that the rice-pulling coin business is a scam.

You are a real useless fellow, instead of thinking of the genuineness of the item you concentrated much on the nonexistence of the items. And this has caused me a lot of time and money loss, time lost is never gained. Money gained after a certain period (like old age) is useless. I have lost one lebbo and one Pattabisekam coin (rama laxmana marriage coin, these are made during the period of ramdass in bhadrachalam 200 years ago, they appeared and solved his financial problem and disappeared, one more thing you have to remember there are invisible living beings with us) due to your postings and criticism etc. on me. East India company has mixed a metal from India with copper and made these items. Now act in a constructive way.

There is lot of nonsense going around me about iridium copper. Let me tell you the story one guy had 400 grams of iridium copper(madras). He is ready to sell it. So some other guys contacted him and formed a syndicate and found other guy who claims he is the only authorized man who can sell or export that sort of metals. (I don't really believe). I just simply said I am not interested.but they are not leaving me and are forcing me to go and check the genuineness in this. I don't know what to do.

Hi all

As some duplicates and many cheaters are into this biz, I request people to be careful with proper testing before escrew etc. These coins and metals etc are used for power generation

We give good rates for all rice pulling coin, iridium copper metals, other RP's like wood , also we deal in NM , Feather etc. Most of the items are coming fake and the tests are BEING DUPLICATED CHEMICALLY, do the glass water test as described below.

Glass water test: fill a non metallic glass with water and put the 4 tested rice in 4 diagonals floating , after some time they will come towards the center. The rice should turn to yellow or brown color.

If rice turns to BLUE COLOR is a fake RP item. Wash the item thoroughly and see that the sellers do not touch it.The 1616 needs a MetaDoxide from Germany for testing and is a costly affair.Anyway we can do the things if we get genuine items excavated from ground. I include a genuine picture of 1616 excavated underground but the charge is being leaking from it, Defense personnel are into this and we need to put it in the morning 4 am sky for recharging.

Although I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Jim's reply.. its time for this thread to come to an end. Ted, please put the kabosh on this C.R.A.P. (see one of my earlier replies), as it really has nothing to do with metal finishing. I'm sure these guys can find some chatroom or something to discuss selling these invaluable coins (although, I believe Jim's suggestion of a use for these coins might actually have some merit).

I agree that it's C.R.A.P., Marc. We delete all contact info, and ridicule the whole idea, so I hardly think we're assisting the market.

But this is a thread that was published in Metal Finishing magazine, and we don't want to cut-off comments that might come in from a reader. It also places #1 on the search engines, so maybe we're helping to save a potential victim. And frankly, I have greatly enjoyed seeing the pictures of all the different versions of '1616' coins; a picture of another version is printed below.

Hi all,

We give good rates for all rice pulling coin, iridium copper metals, other RP's like wood etc , also we deal in NagaMani , Feather tested and non tested , ground Pumpkin tested and non tested, Red Aloe etc.

SELLERS BE CAUTIOUS: As some buyers get a power Grabbing machine from Germany and steal RP power from it, do not allow them to do any kind of electronics tests.

Middle MEN BE CAUTIOUS: As some duplicates and many cheaters are into this biz, I request people to be careful with proper testing before escrow etc. These coins and metals etc are used for power generation.

Most of the items are coming fake and the tests are BEING DUPLICATED CHEMICALLY which cannot be used for power generation, do the glass water test as described below.

rice pulling coin

Do the below tests and include the phone numbers also in the mails, see that there is no delay in any communication etc for fast processing
1)Get fresh rice from home preferably fresh de-husked rice, do not use sellers rice as they do gimmicks as they use chemicals kept hidden in finger nails. Keep the rice very near the item for attraction note the time taken and distance pulled and color.
Glass water test: fill a non metallic glass with water and put the 4 tested rice in 4 diagonals floating , after some time they will come towards the center. The rice should turn to yellow or brown color or Black.
4)Check whether the item is magnetic or not, try to identify whether they placed any magnet in between the metals and welded. If a glass bowl , check for inner height and outer height. Be careful with the rice attraction properties as people near Orissa border and other places deceive hypnotically, touching the item in between.

If rice turns to BLUE COLOR then RP is a fake. Wash the item thoroughly and see that the sellers do not touch it.

The 1616 needs a MetaDoxide from Germany for testing and is a costly affair. We can do these deals if things are genuine.

Dear Mr. [name removed at writer's request],

More pictures, will wonders never cease! The patina is a bit better on this round copper looking thing. Note the roughness on the E I C and the color variation. Nice try but no cigar. This one is too easily made with a ceramic crucible and a torch, note the bubbles on the surface. You could put this fake out every night at 4 AM for charging with or without the Defense Dept. for 387 years and it still won't pull rice. I thought you were preoccupied with selling your metal detectors and here you are back again hustling rice pulling coins. I really think the copper/iridium suppositories would sell better than rice pulling coins, the vibrations would be interesting.

Jim Sivertsen, thanks for the comments, this coin has come to me from a doctor and others who have done extensive research on these from books and other departments.I think this item is good as it exhibited rainbow colors when metadoxide was put on it.By the way a more powerful 1616 item weighs more than 220 grams and we don't find it anywhere since 2 years. Metal detectors are actually not for sale they are used to lend freely to people who are after these items, this would shorten my time in procuring the items, by the way RP items will cancel all electronic items that are present in the vicinity of them, if these are kept in a metal box then there is a chance to find. Trees will absorb these material and we can't detect them with a metal detector and we buy them.

Dear Mr. [name removed at writer's request],

Are you sure you didn't get an M.A. in B.S. at the Sharon Hill Institute of Technology here in the U.S.? Copper base coins were minted for the East India Company by Wilkinson Iron Works in England in the latter 1700's. There is no record of earlier minting of copper base coins. Some earlier coins were minted in precious metals but there was no English lettering on them. Coins are minted (struck with dies) not cast, all we have seen is a casting and something that appears to have come out of the south end of a cow. As to magical, mystical properties, children in the U.S. believe in Santa Claus but when they grow up they abandon the belief. I myself once believed in Froggy the Gremlin on Smiling Ed's radio show back in the 1940's (Froggy now appears at the beginning of these long threads.) but now realize he wasn't real. You have never provided scientific evidence of your claims, all we have seen is B.S. You would be better off presenting your B.S. to the publishers of any of the tabloids sold in supermarkets here in the U.S. The Tabloids specialize in Elvis sightings, alien space babies and other related hokum. A scam is a scam and it seems you are trying to gain credibility by posting your B.S. on a credible web site. It's a shame that we no longer have the Monty Python comedy team, the dead parrot sketch could have been modified by using a defective copper/iridium rice pulling coin in place of the parrot.

Rice Pulling items, is a name given to prove that the material is genuine and rice is a non metallic Hydride, and it pulls the hydrogen and makes it a powder. These items are not made from earth bound materials, long time back some meteorites fell to earth and combining these with locally available copper from which these are made. Iridium is not only the content, a fraction of these, I think these contain "Dark Matter" like substances like WIMPs, etc. These interfere with all kinds of electronics, etc. 1616 is a powerful Libo/Lebbo when the three points are closed with a carbon all electronics fail and a good test is it should vibrate violently when caught in palms. 1717, 1818 coins are plain RP's used for power generation etc. There are other items like plates , glasses , tree pulps , bones which have these properties.

I thought that Froggy was part of the "Buster Brown Show" sponsored by Buster Brown Shoes.

When I look at the whole discussion for over two years at a quick glance, I notice that these Indian fellows are having their own dialog and introduction to each other on this website for some sort of scam. Nice way of using a foreign website! Either they are selling stolen ancient artifacts or "Ganja", whatever it is! They do not care about anybody's comments, and they are in their own world. I suggest Ted, you just cut off this thread of communication (unless you are having fun with it).

Jim Sivertsen and others, don't speak generally in a non technical way. There is text book on metallurgy and it says the coins discovered by Ramanujam. People from Finishing.Com should read the book or other book from their American Libraries. During 1950's only these items are 5000000 rupees per gram in the international Burma Market, and you don't have enough money or time to enquire about it. Actually these are confidential matters and as I need to procure these very fast I need to take these on internet. In India coins were minted long time, if you need to do some activity on these contact Lawrence Livermore National Lab or other labs. I not only buy these but I buy Red Aloe, a special kind of species available in India for 0.1 Million Dollars per Kg and similarly for the Ground Pumpkin too.

Okay, [name removed at writer's request], many people have been urging us to discontinue this thread and I guess it's time because:

I haven't been able to find a single book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or my county library on ANY of the keywords in these years of discussions.

You urge us to contact L.L. National Labs about this. I, and many readers here know the former head of the metals section, and we know his opinions towards junk science.

As the rice-pulling coin idea has been thoroughly debunked and is rapidly losing ground, we see you now laying the groundwork for the next scams of The Great Pumpkin; sorry, but this thread is dedicated to Froggy Gremlin, not to Charlie Brown.

Dear Mr. [name removed at writer's request], I knew it, you did get your M.A. in B.S. at Sharon Hill Institute of Technology. Now it's rice pulling power from Dark Matter and WIMPS (Weakly Interactive Massive Particles)in copper/iridium rice pulling coins. I love this one. Seeing it's difficult to detect WIMPS or verify their existence, it's a good way to explain rice pulling energy in the copper/iridium rice pulling coins. If you must measure the rice pulling power of copper/iridium coins, you will need to build a Heronimus Machine (covered by U.S.Patent). One slight modification is needed and that is to disconnect the negative lead from the detector plate and attach it securely to a copper/iridium suppository. A blindfold must be worn to minimize the Heisenberg Principle (The act of observation effects and changes the observed phenomenon). When everything is ready for the test, place the object to be tested on the focal point plate in the machine, insert the copper/iridium suppository, put on the blindfold and place your fingers on the detector plate. If the coin is the genuine item, a strong vibration will be felt through the copper/iridium suppository. Be careful as flatulence can cause a false positive. The Heronimus machine has no electrical connection and will easily detect WIMPS as it runs on Psyonic power. One additional note; be sure to remove the carbon paper before inserting the copper/iridium suppository.

Wow! The debate over this iridium copper material is no less comprehensive than our U.S. congress' debate about whether to mandate that all buckets be manufactured with holes in the bottoms. I have one bucket like that for brewing beer; the beer passes through that bucket even faster than it passes through me- though some say that is not possible! But if you guys haven't blown all of your rupees on magical bowls and copper coins, I've got a few bottles of Holy water from Doon's well in Donegal. It'll protect you from all forms of harm here on earth though it may cause a burning sensation and vertigo if you've never been Christened. Use with caution!

I have heard that the coin's pulling power can be restored by treatment with SSD solution, Vectrol Paste, or Tebi-Matonic. Get some!

(Only kidding, folks. But maybe by using these search terms on this thread we can get the coin owners to sell these 'magical' scam coins to the Nigerians for trunks full of black money, and everyone can be happy!)

Ed. note: For a long time we've been receiving "offers to buy" rice-pulling coins at astronomical prices, immediately followed by offers to sell them at somewhat lower prices ... but coming from the same IP address :-)

Thus the offers to buy are obviously fictitious, and are designed only to mislead potential buyers into believing that there is a resale market when there is none. Lately we have been receiving postings in support of the assertions here claiming to come from Los Angeles, California-- but in fact the IP address shows the messages are actually coming from India.

This thread has been grand fun for a long time now, but because it's time-consuming and the fact that it's all been said, let's consider this thread closed, folks.
