Phosphatizing of aluminum
I am actually using an iron phosphate on iron pieces, Can I use the same solution for aluminum? If I can use this solution what additive ( salt, etc) can I mix it? Thanks a lot for your answer.

Hi, Robert. Here in the USA virtually no shop formulates their own phosphatizing solutions; they all buy proprietaries. We don't like to print formulations here, only references to published literature. But phosphatizing solutions can be formulated to handle both steel and aluminum; they are called 'mixed metal' baths if you want to use that term to research it further. Good luck.
