Photographic examples of stainless steel finishing and their standard codes
I am looking for a standard used in the industry to communicate what level of polishing our company is looking for in finishing ss castings we are having produced. Can you guide me to a source that provides photographic images of a variety of levels of hand polishing that we can use as a communication tool for our vendor?

Suggestion. Maybe a visual photo is not the way to go. Most finishes are designated with a surface profile finish in either Ra or RMS. If appearance is required, the terms mirror or sandblasted texture are sometimes added to these numerical values. I can not advise where to obtain visuals; however, most large steel makers may have them to depict terms used to indicate finishes they provide.
