Aluminum Substrate Corrosion Problem

1998

We have a customer who has an aluminum substrate that is exposed to a 50% Trifloroacetel Acid and 50% methanol [affil links] Alcohol environment.

Anodizing was not a satisfactory finish for this environment. We would appreciate information for a finish that would be impervious to these chemicals.

The parts would be exposed to a splashing effect rather than an immersion effect.

Thanks for your help

Two part polyesters work well for most acid environments. There are very probably a few powder coat formulations that would work well also.
