Chrome-nickel electroplating problem

Q. I am chemical engineer working in Electroplating Ind. I have a problem of yellow spots and roughness on the finish nickel-chrome plated. How it comes and what's its solution!

A. Can you please tell what is the substrate? What treatment are you doing before plating? What current density are you doing? How and what type of filters are you using in Nickel plating? What is the temperature? Take troubles in bath book and trouble shooting charts and start working on each possibility of improvement. Good luck.

A. I forgot to mention. What type of cloth do you use on anode/anode baskets? Any hole in anode bag/cloth will cause roughness in Nickel plating. The impurities in bath can cause roughness too. Do Hull cell test to find where roughness take place.
