Tin Ceilings and Asbestos
Q. I have an older home with beautiful tin ceilings that need to be refinished. I was all set to take down the ugly drop ceilings that cover them, when a friend informed me that tin ceilings were loaded with asbestos! Is this true?

A. I'm not familiar with that problem--perhaps your friend can clarify. But I'd say there is an excellent chance that the tin ceilings have lead paint on them.
