Salt spray test requirements
I can't seem to find the salt spray requirements for Galvanized steel spring wire, hard drawn, finish 1, type 1, class II, per ASTM A764.
Please help me.

Hello Casey!
You won't find the salt spray requirements in ASTM A764, because it only calls out the thickness of the coating, and doesn't have a corrosion resistance requirement. Finish 1 means that your galvanize is applied before the wire gets its final cold drawing, and the types are A, B, or C, while there is no class II. (Classes are regular, 1, or 3 and refer to the minimum coating thickness.)
The specification is available from the ASTM for $30, at www.astm.org or you can likely see it at your local library.
Good luck!

Casey, if you contact ASTM they will tell you who is responsible for that standard, including their company name and telephone number. You can contact them directly for more information.
