Plating a metal onto tantalum
What metals can be successfully plated on to pure Ta wire (12 ga.)? What condition must the Ta be in to be successfully plated by a particular metal? What devices or atmospheres/environments are required if any?
Looking to achieve a strong enough bond between the Ta and plated metal to have good electrical contact. Thus a decent mechanical bond is important.

I'm out of the office for a few days, Darrell, but I think that Volume 5 "Surface Engineering" of ASM's Metals Handbook covers the pretreatment of tantalum for plating.
