GUESTBOOK, Class of 1959

After graduating from All Souls in 1959, I went to Essex Catholic, then Newark College of Engineering. My four siblings also went to All Souls: Alice [dec.], class of '56; Katherine, class of '61; Robert, class of '63; Mary, class of '68.

I've been married to Mary McDonough of Paramus since 1969. After E.O., I lived in Matawan NJ, Bayville NJ, Middleburg Heights OH, Bay Village OH, Kinnelon NJ, and now Toms River NJ. I'm a self-employed consulting engineer in the metal finishing industry. I have 2 sons: Edmund who recently graduated from Rutgers, and Michael who is attending Toms River North H.S. I hope to see everybody some day soon!

I live in Hillsborough, NJ with my wife of 32 years.  I am a CPA with three children, Allison - Rutgers, Kristin - Penn State, married, Matt - Maryland and Colorado currently in med school.

Spent 4 years in military service as officer during Vietnam period.  Glad to make contact.

Yes I was one of the four who met in Nov. How wonderful to look back and realize no matter where our lives have taken us we are still close.

I have three children Colleen 38, Faith 36 and Glen 28, so I took a break traveled the world and settled in Florida 18 years ago. Happily married to Mike for 31 years, have 5 grandchildren Jared 17, Bryan 14, Kyle 12, Janel 8 and last but not least Michael 4. The last two live here and are very much a part of my daily life, the oldest lives in Indiana the other two in Tennessee. life has been good .

my two brothers and two sisters also graduated from OLAS. frank, class of '43 (i think, I was just a twinkle in my parents eyes..... so was eileen).anyway, robert, class of '46. mary ann class of '52. and eileen, class of '57.

i graduated from EOCH and then onto nursing school.

i'm doing what I always wanted to do; taking care of babies. I work at St. Barnabas Medical Center in their Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery.

I'm married to jerry and have two stepchildren(wsm=wicked stepmother), billy married and living in N.C. and nancy married and living in lafayette,N.J. nancy and bruce have one daughter, mindy. jerry and I have two children, mary, 19, and attending raritan valley comm. college. and daniel, 17, and a senior at Immaculata high school, somerville, N.J.

we are living in branchburg,n.j.

it's good to be in touch after all these years!

Hi. Great website.

Ted, I remember you as Edmund; one day we went fishing from a bridge over the Passaic River up near where the Willowbrook Mall is (was?). I don't think either of us caught anything.

I'm amazed at how many people found the site already! I've been in touch with Mary Ellen Bonscher via e-mail/phone and was aware of the get together with Bobby Detore, Ted, and Kathleen Washington in NJ in November. As much as I wished I could have made it, 600 miles was too far for lunch.

After I graduated from OLAS:

-I attended Seton hall Prep. Graduated in 1963

-I went to Seton Hall University 1963 - 67. Did not graduate.

-U.S. Army 1967-70. Choice of enlist or be drafted and sent to Vietnam. I enlisted and got sent anyway. Did not get hurt.

-Returned to civilian life in 1970 and got involved in computers. Have worked in data processing, MIS, IT (or whatever it was called at the time) ever since.

-Worked for an oil company based in New Jersey from 1979 until 1995.

-Worked for another oil company based in St. Louis, MO from 1995 until 2000.

-Currently working for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY.

-I married Barbara Ahlstrom (EOCH 1964) in 1967 - just before going to Vietnam. No children.

-We make our home in Fairport, NY just outside of Rochester.

-I finished my degree at Seton Hall University in 1982 and I earned a masters degree in manufacturing management and operations at Olin Business School at Washington University at St. Louis in 1998.

-Barbara is currently studying to be a Physicians Assistant and lives in Philadelphia (long story). She'll complete the program in 2002 and then she'll return to Fairport.

My brother Tommy OLAS 64(?), sisters Mary OLAS 60, and Ellen OLAS 65(?) are alive and well. Tommy and Mary live in NJ and Ellen lives outside of Portland, Maine.

Hope to see you all at an OLAS reunion.

I got an email from my sister-in-law and on it was our 7th grade and graduation pictures and related updates. What a surprise and I must say that it did bring back some pleasant memories.

I won't make this first message too long but I just wanted to let you know to include me on the list of classmates that you have located. I have been living in Tennessee since 1972 but my Mom, brother and remaining relatives are still in NJ.

How nice to finally get reconnected with people. I found Classmates.com by accident and then found Kathy Washington etc. After OLAS I went to EOHS for 2 years, the family moved across town so I then went to Clifford Scott. After CJS I went to Newark City Hospital School of Nursing. I still work as a nurse, I teach at a community college on Long Island and I also work as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I am divorced, have two daughters Katie 23, & Jenn 21. I would love to hear from people.

I'm trying to find an old friend of my mom's, Grace Ahlstrom, and found Robert Ghirlanda's entry on this site as being married to Barbara Ahlstrom. Grace had a daughter Barbara, so I tried to contact Robert to find out if Grace is Barabara's mother, but the contact email didn't work and I can't find a phone listing in Fairport NY for them. Can anyone put me in touch?

I found this site quite by accident and can't believe it even existed. I'm pictured far right in second row of grad pic. I remember fondly those years. I'm living in Florida these days with wife Joan. For years lived in Dingmans Ferry, PA. Will keep in touch. Nice finding you all.

Hi Ted;

I went to OLAS with a Theador Mooney and I was wondering if you are the same one. Also I heard a rumour that OLAS was closed in 1993 and is now the NEW VISION FULL GOSPEL BAPTIST CHURCH. This is located at 209 4TH AVENUE, EAST ORANGE NJ 07018. This was the location of OLAS. Is this true? If it is true, it is a big shock. Can you post this on your website if true?

Wanted you to know that OLAS as we knew it is no longer.
The buildings remain. The Church is, I believe Baptist.
The school and old church building remain and is in use. Go to the main page of this site and you will find pictures posted. One is of the School building I took of it in 2001.
