Surface Finish Relationships
I'm in search of the relationship between surface finishes of the American standard "RA" to the English Standard "CLA".

I suggest you read Machinery's Handbook. I know there is a detailed description of different finishing requirements. But, I think Ra and CLA are one and the same. As I know RMS is different from Ra. Even for these two, the difference is only 11% and many manufacturers just use the same number regardless of method of measurement.
