Classification for evaluating corrosion in salt-laden atmosphere
Q. lets set an example:
I have a product with Sn-plated copper contacts that my customer want warranty - the main topic is in regard to corrosion on the contact surface in kinda salt-laden environment, coastal areas for example.
I have found that you can test the product in salt-spray chamber. But how do you evaluate the results? Is there any classification for example class 1 (this), class 2 (that), class 3 (...)
I want to give feedback to the customer in a way something like this:
"I can offer you warranty for 5 years for class A (dunno, some conditions where it can be used) but if you want better, example 10 years, that is class B (or worse conditions than A), I need to make better coating and thus higher price".
Is there anything in this direction? I can buy standard if there is one with such classification, but i dont want to buy a whole bunch of them without knowing which one is right for my question.
Thank you for your help :)
