Laptop Computers for Plating Shop Environment

Q. I'm looking for a brand or brands of laptop computers that will "stand up" to the plating shop environment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A. Hi, Doc. Anyone is encouraged to answer your question, but while we're waiting ...

I remember the days of slop and grease beyond belief, and cyanide in plating shops, and teary burning eyes, and it was just horrible in some shops. Things have gotten much much better over the last 40+ years, but we're not there yet ... things still have to improve in many shops.

Which is to say that it's 2012, and I think the answer to this question is that the problem is the shop, not the computer. If we're asking the lungs of human beings to endure working conditions that computers can't endure, it's a problem.
